MT SHEBA CHRISTIAN BOARDING SCHOOL
Mt Sheba Christian Boarding School sits on thirty one and one half acres and is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. The property is visible from I-26 which travels from Asheville to Johnson City.
The one year program is a Bible- based curriculum from Alpha and Omega Publishers (AOP), which includes scripture references throughout each lesson. There are five major subjects which are: Bible, History & Geography, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. There are several electives which can be chosen from; based on individual student need.
Our primary purpose and overall goal is to assist, encourage and uplift teenage boys & girls who have family, drug, social, academic, and behavioral difficulties. But most importantly-we hope to fill their spiritual needs by helping them find their way to Jesus Christ, where they will eventually cultivate their social, moral and Christian values and Bible-based academics. Our students will be surrounded by staff who love God, young people, and wish only to return them to their families as productive citizens, with new-found respect for their parents, their community, and most of all, for God.
THE STORY OF THE CROSS
Being our property is by a very busy interstate, our church wanted to put a cross on the site to be viewed by passers by. We were contacted by a cellular company who wanted a cell tower placed on the high point of our property. They agreed to put up a 90’ high cross with a cellular antenna installed inside. They also pay rental on the site which helps pay for the property. They have their cellular tower….We have our Cross. Everyone who passes by sees the cross day & night. All who drive by on cellular phones talk through the Cross. A young man who’s life was being controlled by alcohol and drugs, drove by the cross every day. He was caught and imprisoned. He called his parents to come and get him. They did, and while driving home, he saw the cross, made them stop, got out and at the cross, asked Jesus to come into his heart. He was changed at the cross. If we can get people to THE cross of Calvary, they'll find their way home!
